Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Episode 38

Last Time: The Rangers fought a monster for the entire episode!

On some planet, Leo and Damon are running from Deviot and the pirate-themed goons, but are captured. Deviot wants to kill them, but that axe guy from last episode informs him that Captain Mutiny wants to kill them himself, but can't get there for a few hours. So Damon and Leo are left to hang around until then as the villains decide to leave. Credits!

On the planet, Leo and Damon are discussing their predicament. Leo and Damon both realize that neither or them actually told the other Rangers where they were going, leaving little hope for rescue. This leads to them remembering past adventures when they were in difficult situations. First up, the time Leo stowed away on Terra Venture, because no law of man could be allowed to stop his quest to reach space. Then Damon remembers the time Kai stole the Megaship to rescue his friends after they had gone through that portal. Are all of these memories going to be of felonies committed by the Rangers?

Okay, then Damon remembers the time they took those Quasar Sabers...which led to Mirinoi being turned into stone, and then Leo remembers when Mike died. Yeah, that was quite a day. I'd almost forgotten how fatalistic Mike was when he dived into that pit.

Later, they talk about the Magna Defender, who I miss dearly, if only because he had an awesome and beat up Leo a few times. Anyway, they remember the high points of that story arc, including the old Magna Defender theme music that used to play every time he showed up. They then remember how he died saving Terra Venture....from a disaster that he himself had created.

Anyway, they remember Mike coming back to life, which wasn't even that exciting the first time around. Then they skip through the next ten filler episodes as fast as they can, and having seen them, I can't really fault them.

The sun is rising in the sky, and Leo and Damon are suffering from the heat. Leo remembers gutting Scorpius, only to reminded of the futility of their struggles when Trakeena took his place. Leo claims that the Psycho Rangers were even worse, and given how that ended up....yeah, probably. Anyway, that means it's time to remember poor, dead Kendrix.

They then wrap things up by remembering Karone and the Lost Galaxy. Okay, awesome, are we done here? Damon claims that he knew Captain Mutiny was evil from the start. Yeah, well, you don't get a name like Captain Mutiny by volunteering at soup kitchens.

Captain Mutiny shows up, and the two Rangers argue over who should be executed first. The other Rangers show up and rescue the pair, and Leo blows up some monster with his Battilizer for good measure. The monster gets introduced and killed in the space of thirty seconds. Anyway, the other Rangers share some light-hearted banter, and the show's budget is saved! Show Over!
