Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Episode 36
Original Airdate: 11-12-1999
Last Time: The Steroid Guardian tried to stop Terra Venture from being pulled into the Lost Galaxy....he didn't do a great job.
On the command carrier, the villains are still stuck in the regular ol' galaxy and have thus managed to lose the Rangers. They decide it's not worth it to enter the Lost Galaxy, and decide to take the next few episodes off. Meanwhile, Kai repeats his revelation about being in the Lost Galaxy from last time. Credits! And for once the song lyrics aren't a pack of lies!
Commander Stanton and Mike are discussing the situation, basically, they're boned, to the point of accidentally getting off of the elevator onto an alien desert by mistake. A ghostly figure appears and tells them to leave the Lost Galaxy, but doesn't offer much in the way of helpful advice. Suddenly, Commander Stanton and Mike are back on the bridge. Kai briefs the commander on how clocks are suddenly running backwards and plants are un-growing.
On a nearby planet, an evil space ship/castle/pirate ship blasts off from under an ocean. It's the new temp villains! Their leader is a monster with a miniature sailing ship for a chest named Captain Mutiny. He....does know how mutinies work, right? That'd be like having a guy named King Regicide or Lieutenant McFrag. Anyway, Captain Mutiny sends out a monster to capture Terra Venture.
Commander Stanton has once again been hauled before the council of elders, who are displeased with this latest turn of events. Mike calls in to inform him of the giant castle type thing heading towards them. Commander Stanton orders the defenses readied. Elsewhere, the space pirates are approaching, some of them by what appears to be a space rowboat. There is no Sentai Footage that Saban will not mutilate to suit his needs.
Captain Mutiny lands and calls for a parley and offers gifts...but well, everyone's a bit suspicious of the pirate. Commander Stanton and him have a little chat, and Captain Mutiny offers to help out Terra Venture with a special machine. But to get it, Terra Venture will have to follow the cap'n to his home planet. Commander Stanton decides to roll the dice and trust a guy named Captain Mutiny, because, well, why not? The Rangers, however, know a monster when they see one, and decide to investigate the good captain.
They observe the delivery of the special machine, which has a suspicious window with bars on it. The Rangers decide to stick on the planet and quickly find a slave camp. They realize that this might be a problem. They also overhear Captain Mutiny discussing that whatever's in the box he sent to Terra Venture will help enslave its inhabitants. That's enough to get the Rangers to actually do something. Unfortunately, they get spotted by a slave who draws attention to the Rangers, and forces them to fight a rocket monster and some new pirate-themed mooks.
On Terra Venture, the mystery box arrives. Meanwhile, the Rangers beat up the new mooks, same as the old mooks. Leo decides to expedite the monster fight by just running him down on his Capsular Cycle, and that takes us to the giant-sized fight. The rocket monster decides to self-destruct, but gets taken out by the Galaxy Megazord. The rocket monster is still somehow alive, though, but Deviot comes up and drains the rest of his energy, killing him.
On Terra Venture, they open the mystery box, and the Rangers arrive just in time to see a monster emerge and burrow its way undergroud. Captain Mutiny gloats a bit and....Show Over!
Next Time: I don't know, maybe the Rangers will actually do something right for a change.
