Enter the Lost Galaxy

Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Episode 35

Original Airdate: 11-11-1999

Last Time: We found out that academic dishonesty is a victimless crime!

On Terra Venture, some scientist are working on the MacGuffin book. They manage to cause some sort of electrical reaction from the book by chanting some sort of incantation. For some reason, the scientists think it's a good idea to heedlessly repeat the phrase, and, before long, they've managed to knock out the power for all of Terra Venture. Commander Stanton decides that it might not be a great idea to fuck around with the MacGuffin book anymore and decides to have it locked up. Of course, had he thought of that a few episodes ago, Kendrix wouldn't be dead. Credits!

Some mechanics are servicing the blown-out transformers of Terra Venture when they notice what appears to be a shooting star. It turns out that the shooting star was actually some overly muscular dude, who disguises himself as a typical resident of Terra Venture in order to better infiltrate the colony. Although since no seems bothered by the fact that Maya still dresses like she's in the jungle, I don't know that it's strictly necessary.

Commander Stanton has been dragged before the Terra Venture council of elders, and one of the councillors suggests just blowing the damn book up. Meanwhile, the gigantic infiltrator has made his way up the bridge. Terra Venture may have the worst security in the history of mankind. He finds the book and easily dispatches the guards with some sort of energy pulse. Kai shows up to try and stop him....and apparently he succeeds as we jump cut to Senor Muscles being interrogated by the council of elders. He's not saying anything, though. They decide to throw him in prison.

Kai puts him in a cell, and the big dude explains that Kai has to help him recover the MacGuffin Book. Kai is unconvinced until Steroid McGee is able to identify him as the Blue Ranger. He explains that he is the Guardian of the Book, and was drawn by the incantation from the beginning of the episode.

At the Galactic Apartment, everyone but Kai is convinced that the Guardian is working for Trakeena. Kai, however, has faith in the chemically-enhanced Guardian. The next day, Kai serves the Guardian breakfast, but the Guardian is slowly dying because of Terra Venture's atmosphere. He explains that he can see the future and knows that Kai will help him. Kai decides to go with it and sneaks the Guardian out of the jail cell. Kai goes off to steal the MacGuffin Book for the Guardian, and the Guardian show his gratitude with some magical diamonds.

Kai's able to get the book, but is intercepted by Deviot on his way to rendezvous with the Guardian. Deviot wins, but the Guardian shows up and beats the crap out of the villain, right until Terra Venture poisoning catches up to him, at which point Deviot is able to mortally wound the Guardian and take the book. Kai is appointed the new Guardian of the book, but has no knowledge of either the clear or the cream to guide him on his path. Deviot decides not to fuck around and immediately uses the book to give himself some more power. The Rangers get pummelled.

The Rangers decide to go with the Lights of Orion, which also fails to stop Deviot. Kai remembers he has those magic crystals, which the team uses to get some new bazookas. They fire, and that means it's time for the megazord fight. The Rangers call out all of their megazords at once, and it's more than Deviot can bear.

Unfortunately, by the time that the Rangers make it back to the book, it's already too late and something bad, involving lightning and eerie sounds. Kai eventually figures out that the colony has been teleported to the Lost Galaxy...which is bad....I think. Show Over!
