Power Rangers: Time Force, Episode 18
Original Airdate: 6-2-2001
Last Time: Katie had a dream/trip to the past which taught us all a lesson about....I don't know, the importance of violence in solving one's problems.
Nadira is robbing another bank and Jen comes up with a plan to arrest Nadira that involves luring her close to Wes. The Silver Guardians show up, including Eric and his red beret of leadership. This leads to Wes being out of position and Nadira getting away. Jen starts yelling at Wes because that's her style of leadership, and Eric piles on because....well, the man just doesn't care for the Red Ranger. I can't say I blame him. Credits!
Later, Jen is still yelling at Wes and telling him that she can't trust him. Wes tries to turn it around and says that the team can't trust Jen because she's an ice queen. Now, that's true, but fuck knows that the other Rangers aren't going to back Wes up.
At Ransik's Pad, a new monster has managed to cobble together a holodeck for the villains. It's all part of some new plan. The Rangers head off to fight another monster attack and Jen makes sure to wreck whatever self-confidence Wes has left by browbeating him right before they attack the monster. It does no good, and the Rangers are sent to another dimension where they're confronting with evil dopplegangers who believe in equality for mutants. Ranger-on-Ranger violence ensues.
The Rangers are handily defeated, but they manage to accidentally blow a hole in the dimension. Unfortunately, only Jen and Wes make it out. Circuit explains that they have to go back into the alternate dimension to rescue the Rangers. Circuit explains that trust is essential for this plan to work for some undefined reason.
Jen and Wes prepare for the assault on the alternate dimension, and Jen explains that she used to be likable until she met Alex, who turned her into the cold, unpleasant person she is today. Fuck, Ales deserved to die. Okay, time for the battle. Trip, Katie and Lucas get sent to some warehouse and have to fight the evil Rangers. Elsewhere, Jen gets intentionally set to the alternate dimension, and Wes waits so that they can fire on the barrier for either side. At least, I think that's what's happening.
Jen, however, first has to make it through her evil counterpart, which she does and the alternate dimension gets destroyed. The monster elects to skip straight to the megazord battle, and I salute him for his efficiency. The monster creates an evil copy of the Time Force Megazord, but it's rather disappointing and isn't able to do much. The monster gets killed and we're just about done with the episode.
Back at the clock tower, Wes has created a cheap looking target range, and Jen misses with a dart gun. Wes teaches her how to shoot, and Jen is reminded of Alex, what with him looking exactly like Wes and all. That....doesn't seem emotionally healthy for anyone. Show Over!
Next Time: Trip takes a stand against....actually, it's not really clear against what he's against, but Eric's on the other side of the issue, so Trip's almost certainly wrong.
