Power Rangers: Wild Force, Episode 2
Original Airdate: 2-9-2002
Last Time: The Wild Force Rangers assembled and....oh, God, don't make me remember....
On the Animarium, Cole is talking in his usual stilted and unnatural manner. He wonders if man and Org cannot resolve their difference peacefully. Oh, no, we're not going down that road again!
In the city, a barbed wire Org comes to life and destroys a police car.
Back in the sky, Princess Shayla doesn't know why the Orgs are suddenly able to grow to skyscraper side, and she doesn't seem particularly concerned with finding out. Alyssa shows up and we learn that she's in college. I don't care. Also, Taylor is resentful of Cole. This, I approve. They get alerted to the presence of the barbed wire Org and head out.
Elsewhere, Jindrax and Toxica travel to a cave with a bunch of statues. They discuss that the Orgs are making a comeback. And now it's time to meet Master Org....a doughy man with an incredible accent that truly must be heard to be believed. He sends them off to find the Org that is "Weaking havoc on the sea" Wait...that can't be right.
Before the Rangers get to the battle, Cole suggests trying to reason with the Org, but Taylor is reasonably sure that creatures made of barbed wire are apt to be talked down. Alyssa explains that Taylor has much more experience than anyone else and should be trusted.
Elsewhere, Toxica and Jindrax give the Org some power-enhancing substance that looks like yogurt.
Danny and Max try to get Taylor to wait for Cole because he's the new leader. Taylor is as irritated by this as I am. Anyway, Cole is wrong anyway as the Org starts attacking people and creating this season's mooks. Cole still tries to reason with the Org...using some sort of bullshit about connecting with the heart of an Org. Cole then learns that Orgs don't have hearts. Alyssa immediately gets injured as the result of Cole's idiocy. Your hero, ladies and gentlemen!
Taylor shows up to save the day, and, for some unknowable reason, decides to accept Cole as leader even though he just almost got 40% of the team killed. They morph and fight the mooks, who are known as Putrids. I appreciate that they have a short name this year. Obviously the Putrids are essentially incapable of anything except sucking and dying, and so soon the Rangers kill the Org with their combined weapon attack, the Savage Slash.
Jindrax and Toxica show up, introduce themselves and make the monster grow...with evil seeds. Oh, God damn it, show! The Rangers call in the zords, and it's well past time for the first megazord of the season. The lion speaks to Cole again and tells him to get on that. It's a CGI transformation, though, which is lame. The Org tries attacking the Wild Force Megazord, but to no avail. The megazord attacks and...wait, all of the attacks are CGI too? Man....
Later, Jindrax and Toxica report back to Master Org, who announces that the Rangers will "fill the rat of tree thousand years of van-geance." Oh, no! I assume that means that Master Org will attack them with some sort of nightmarish rat-van powered by hate. Actually, I believe he's vowed revenge, although I'm not exactly sure.
In the Animarium, Cole is looking at the picture of his parents and the other Rangers decide to give him a bath and cut his hair...turning him into White Trash. Ugh.....Show Over!
Next Time: Taylor turns invisible....well, more invisible.
