Revenge of Zen-Aku

Power Rangers: Wild Force, Episode 13

Original Airdate: 4-27-2002

Last Time: Zen-Aku decided to once again beat the hell out of the Rangers. He also played his flute a lot.

The magic pool on the Animarium starts bubbling, alerting the Rangers that Zen-Aku is up to something. And what is Senor Kickass doing? He's playing his flute in a clearing and waiting for something. Toxica shows up, having apparently not learned her lesson last episode, and makes some cryptic comments about Zen-Aku's past. The Rangers show up for the 1 o'clock beating and Zen-Aku obliges and calls out the Predazord, and then ups the ante by summoning the Elephant Zord, who now works for him. This causes Alyssa to have a hissy fit. Zen-Aku also calls on the Giraffe Zord, and uses it to break apart the Wild Force Megazord. He's about to finish off the Rangers when the Kongazord and the Bear Zords show up to save them. Zen-Aku decides to suspend his revenge for a while for no particularly good reason.

Later, Shayla has decided that she really ought to investigate the monster that keeps beating the shit out of her Rangers, and Taylor decides to come as well. Elsewhere, Zen-Aku plays his flute and hears the spirit of an Org looking for revenge. He unleashes the monster, which turns out to be the Motorcycle Org.

At Zen-Aku's tomb, Shayla arrives and announces that "something is very wrong here." You don't say. The Motorcycle Org shows up and it turns out that Taylor had earlier killed it, but that Zen-Aku has brought it back to life for revenge. The Big Z himself shows up, notices Shayla's necklace, and decides to kidnap the princess. He then allows Taylor remain unharmed, because he doesn't want to rush his revenge. Er...it's been four episodes, I don't think that's really a concern at this point.

At an auto garage, Zen-Aku decides to investigate the necklace that stirred his memories. As usual, Shayla provides no helpful information. Meanwhile, the other Rangers have found Taylor, who explains that her last fight against the Motorcycle Org didn't go well, and it was Shayla who defeated the Org, not her. Cole gives her a pep talk. You know, if I were the Rangers, I wouldn't worry so much about the Motorcycle Org so much as the unstoppable Zen-Aku who has now beaten them in abotu a half-dozen fights in a row.

Speaking of Zen-Aku, he's still trying to piece his memory together. He remembers something about spending time with Shayla, and I can see why he'd want to repress his memory. The Rangers show up for another beating, and demand that Zen-Aku release Shayla. Zen-Aku, being a sport, allows Taylor to fight the Motorcycle Org alone while Zen-Aku deals with the other Rangers. Toxica and Jindrax look on and see that Putrid Filler Support will not be necessary this week. Zen-Aku defeats the Rangers again, and Shayla steps into to stop him, which distracts him long enough for Cole to sucker punch him. Oh, and the Rangers Savage Slash the Motorcycle Org....which, once again, doesn't really solve the Zen-Aku situation, which seems slightly more pressing.

And, in fact, Zen-Aku interrupts the Rangers' celebration to trot out the Predazord. Zen-Aku wins by TKO in round 1. Out of the zords, Taylor tries to protect Shayla from Zen-Aku....and it doesn't go well, as he steals her Bear Crystals. Well, I guess Taylor gets an "A" for effort....and an "F" for actual success, and since that "F" is a zero grade, Taylor fails. Zen-Aku was slightly wounded in the process, though, and Shayla notices that he bleeds human blood. Zen-Aku then calls it a day and chooses to stretch his largely successful quest for vengeance for yet another episode. Man, even I'm getting tired of watching Cole get his ass kicked. Elsewhere, Taylor is depressed, what with the failure and all. Given the events of the last few episodes, no one has much of a pep talk to give to her. Show Over!

Next Time: Take a wild guess!
