Power Rangers: Wild Force, Episode 8

Last Time: Taylor found the Bear Zords....which turned out to be incompatible with the Wild Force Megazord.

On the Animarium, Cole promises to make the Lion Zord feel better. Shayla explains that the Bear Zords were too powerful for the Lion Zord to happen. Solution: Capture a Soul Bird....which is another zord, of course. There is no problem in this season that cannot be solved by getting another zord. Cole decides to search for the Solu Bird the only way he knows how....walking through the forests yelling for it. Brilliant! Master Org feels the power of the Soul Bird, and sends Toxica and Jindrax to destroy it.

The two villains quickly finds someone called Bulldozer Org to do the work for them, and then do the smart thing and make the monster grow right off, knowing that the megazord is inoperational. The Rangers are confused by this conundrum and are about to get killed when the Lion Zord talks to Cole yet again to save his sorry ass for reasons I will never understand. The Lion Zord wants to go with the megazord regardless of the risks.

The megazord isn't up to the task, and Taylor suggests using the Bear Zords, despite the fact that they almost destoyed the megazord last time. But hell, the Lion Zord is up for it. Unfortunately, the megazord doesn't have the power to actually use the Bear Zords and the megazord falls apart. The Lion Zord decides to take on the Bulldozer Org by itself, but, well, if animals could stand up to bulldozers, then we wouldn't have to worry about them going extinct all the time.

The Rangers decide to go get the Soul Bird, and Cole is selected to search for it while the other fight some Putrids. Cole almost immediately runs into Master Org, and they yell at each other for a bit, that concludes with Master Org electing to blast Cole for a while. It goes pretty well for the villain, until the picture of Cole's parents falls out of Cole's vest, and Master Org has a flashback to the time when he killed them...with vine tentacles. Cole takes the opportunity to recover and strip off his shirt and vest....you know, given the actor's later career, that was probably good practice.

Anyway, the Soul Bird shows up and Master Org drives it off with an energy blast. But, lamentably, Master Org is about to repeat his earlier mistake by not making sure that he finished off the offspring of his murder victims. Cole is depressed, until the Kongazord, a giant gorilla, shows up to give the team yet another fucking zord.

The Kongazord shows up to fight the Bulldozer Org and uses his most fearsome attack....throwing giant bananas at the monster. Damn it, that sucks, it just sucks. The Rangers then form a new megazord configuration with the Kongazord taking the place of the Lion Zord, and then kill the Bulldozer Org.

Later, the Rangers go back to the Soul Bird's nest. Cole finds an egg that presumably contains a baby Soul Bird. Show Over!
