Power Rangers: Wild Force, Episode 12
Original Airdate: 4-20-2002
Last Time: Zen-Aku beat the Rangers up a bit more while Shayla just kind of sat around and looked confused. She's....not a great mentor.
Zen-Aku plays his flute some more and explains that he was imprisoned 3000 years ago by the proto-Rangers, and that's why he needs to get revenge on the current Rangers. Because Zen-Aku is so very awesome, he decides to kill Cole first.
Speaking of Cole, the Red Ranger is talking about his missing parents as well as fighting Zen-Aku. In the city, Danny and Max meet Alyssa outside of class and get her some ice cream so she'll forget about the Elephant Zord. Hey, how do the Rangers get down from the Animarium anyway. Danny realizes that he has to go off and water some flowers. I can't help but notice that this is time that could be used to show Zen-Aku beating Cole to death.
But, hold on, there's not quite enough Zen-Aku material to fill out an episode, so there has to be another monster to stretch the episode. This week: The dreaded Bus Org, which is currently in the form of a real bus that has taken some people hostage. Alyssa and Max get aboard, and Toxica and Jindrax show up to block the doorway until the Rangers give up their crystals. Max distracts them by throwing his out of one of the bus windows and then evacuating the bus. The Bus Org then turns into a standard monster, who Max must fight by himself. The other Rangers head off to help him but are stopped by Zen-Aku and his flute music o' incoming doom. Cole decides to hang back and fight the monster who was wiped the floor with the entire team twice. Well, that's a bold choice.
On the way to the fight, Danny and Taylor are further waylaid by Putrids. Danny somehow gets Toxica to throw the crystal in the lake, and Danny is forced to dive in after it.
Back at the fight that people actually care about, Zen-Aku mercilessly crushes Cole. Danny then finds the crystal. Cole asks Zen-Aku about his need for vengeance, and the villain decides to call it a day and leave. All five Rangers finally converge on the Bus Org, who is destroyed. But, hell, you know what it's time for. The megazord fight doesn't last long, so Zen-Aku decides to show everyone how to blow the crap out of the Wild Force Megazord. He calls down his zords and combines them to form the Predazord, which proceeds to knock down the Rangers' megazord. Max calls for the Giraffe Spear, which does absolutely nothing to the Predazord. Zen-Aku then blasts the Giraffe Arm right off of the megazord, and blows it apart in the process.
Zen-Aku then gets out of the zord and steals Max's Giraffe Crystal....because he can. Zen-Aku then decides that he's beaten them badly enough for one episode and walks away.
That night, Zen-Aku meets with Master Org, but Zen-Aku wants nothing to do with the old man. This somehow leads Master Org to conclude that Zen-Aku doesn't remember his past yet....of course, the problem that Master Org discussed last episode wasn't that Zen-Aku could access his memories, but that he inevitably would, so when Master Org closes out the episode by laughing evilly, I'm not sure he's really earned it. Show Over!
Next Time: The Rangers make dramatic improvements in their Anti-Zen-Aku strategy by only suffering a minor defeat!
