Power Rangers Turbo, Episode 32
Original Airdate: 10-20-1997
Last Time: Divatox got some wishing coins, but long story short, only one is left, and Bulk just used it to play pinball. Oh, and the Blue Senturion is evil again.
When we last left our heroes, Bulk and Skull were about to play a game of pinball using the last wishing coin. Being Bulk and Skull, this somehow leads to them utterly destroying the pinball table with the magic coin. Lt. Stone shows up to wonder how the hell that happened, and manages to retrieve the coin. He sends the two away to their new jobs at the nursery, and since the consequences of Bulk and Skull working with children would be far too gruesome for this show, it's a plant nursery.
Up in space, the Wild Weeder is introduced again and once again asks for "vittles." Divatox is skeptical that of a monster with a Southern accent, as all right thinking people should be. But, well, it's all she's got, so she sends him down to find the third coin. The Blue Senturion accompanies him. They find a group of people, and Wild Weeder brainwashes them into helping find the coin. This involves the brainwashed people dressing in yellow and black striped shirts with matching caps for reasons that go far beyond human understanding. Credits!
T.J. and Cassie are walking down the street looking for the third coin. They don't find anything. I would just like to point out that the guy playing T.J. cannot fucking act, at all. It's oddly fascinating in a way, but he is able to manage to make even innocuous lines like calling into to say that he found nothing sound wrong. For what it's worth, the actor, Selwyn Ward, was probably just beginning his career at the time, so maybe he got better. Alpha 6 confirms that the only way to fix Blue Senturion is with the third wish. T.J. and Cassie spot Blue Senturion and Wild Weeder making some more brainwashed people. They morph and call for the rest of team.
Blue Senturion calls of Wild Weeder and decides to take care of the Rangers personally. T.J. tries to reason with him for roughly the 23rd time. It fails for the 23rd time. T.J. decides to try to grap the Wild Weeder's brainwashing seeds, the Blue Senturion stops that action. T.J. tries to reason with the Blue Senturion again, because like the main character from Memento, he has no long-term memory. The Blue Senturion shoots the Rangers some more and then leaves. The Rangers confront the brainwashed masses, but can't get through to them. I think the outfit is supposed to make them look like bees, but why seeds from a monster called Wild Weeder would make people into brainwashed man-bees is a mystery that I cannot begin to fathom. The Rangers decide to go back to looking for the coin.
Down at the nursery, things are not going well for Bulk and Skull as they instinctively recoil against the piles of cow manure that show logic demands will soon cover them. Wild Weeder shows up and brainwashes their boss. Elsewhere, the Blue Senturion and the Wild Weeder have set up an elaborate coin searching pavillion. Justin and Carlos decide to check the juice bar. Mechanics are taking out the wrecked pinball machine. Lt. Stone explains that Bulk and Skull are what happened to wrecked game, more specifically, with a odd-looking coin. Justin and Carlos are keen to find this coin, and Lt. Stone directs them to the plant nursery, so long as Bulk and Skull haven't been fired yet. Hey, show some faith, Lt. Stone, they once managed to hold down a tour guide job for nearly four episodes.
At the nursery, Bulk and Skull are thirsty and decide to use the magic coin to get a drink from a vending machine. The Bee-people stop them. Bulk and Skull freak out, and Divatox finally knows where the coin is. Wild Weeder and Blue Senturion show up and demand the coin. Bulk and Skull, however, tap their reserves of courage and prepare to fight. The other Rangers show up and morph so as to fight. Bulk and Skull withdraw as the Rangers move in. Some Piranhatrons get beaten up, as they so often do. The Wild Weeder has a plan and splits, while Blue Senturion acts as a distraction, but eventually leaves as well. Everyone is now hunting for Bulk and Skull.
This involves calling out Lightning Cruiser and Storm Blaster. They run into Wild Weeder who throws some seeds at the cars, which immediately sprout into vines, which, in turn, summon giant bees. The Rangers must fight the bees for reasons that are not entirely clear. Maybe they're worried about staining the interior...I don't know. The bees win, the bees always win. The Rangers are able to regroup and shoot down the bees, but Wild Weeder responds by shooting them. The Blue Senturion is back, once again, to fight the Rangers. Willd Weeder decides to sit the rest of the fight out. Blue Senturion calls out the Robo Racer. He tries to crush the Rangers with his mech's giant boot.
Bulk and Skull are still running from the bee-people. Bulk and Skull lose them, but realize that they have a wishing coin that they can use, to, you know, make a wish. Bulk starts to make a wish, but that attracts the attention of the merciless bee-ple. Elsewhere, the Robo Racer is still attacking the Rangers, and they call the Rescue Zords. They go into high-stance mode. They circle around the Robo Racer. They background music is encouraging every one to "rock and roll." I'm not sure how that has anything to do with giant robots hitting each, but fine. The Robo Racer is losing.
Bulk and Skull see the robot fight and frantically signal with flags. Justin goes down to deal with them. Bulk relinquishes the coin, but asks if the coin really did have magic powers. Justin confirms that it did. Bulk and Skull walk away dejectedly. Justin decides not to use the wish to bring his dad back home, but to instead wish the Blue Senturion good again. Sporting of him. Blue Senturion is good again! Torpedo time!
Wild Weeder is now giant-sized, as is one of his giant bees. The Rangers call for the Rescue Megazord. Blue Senturion takes the bee, because, as he puts, "This time, it's personal." The Blue Senturion simply cannot adibe evil of an apiary nature. He kills it with his knife. Artillery Power is called for and while Wild Weeder's spirit goes on high, his gross flesh sinks downard, here to die. The bee-people also return to normal.
Later, Carlos finds Justin down at the wishing well. Justin has lost all faith in wishing because he's only successfully executed one wish that day. Carlos tells Justin not to give up on his wishes. I'm guessing that's because Carlos sees Justin's dad walking up in the background. Anyway, Justin's dad shows up and explains that he no longer will be a deadbeat parent, as he has a new job in Angel Grove. Show (Mercifully) Over!
Next Time: Divatox siphons some gas!
