Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy, Episode 14
Original Airdate: 5-15-1999
Last Time: The Lights of Orion finally showed up and revealed their power to create gaudy accessories. Also, Treacheron was accused of treachery, probably because of the name. Parents take not and don't name your kids after crimes, like Thiefwell, or Murderick, or Rapeford.
In prison, Treacheron talks about how he's going to clear his name, suddenly the Shark Brothers show up to break him out. The Shark brothers appears to be half-shark, half-ninja and half-New Jerseyite, making them a trule deadly combination. The escape is briefly delayed when Trakeena shows up to taunt Treacheron, and Treacheron tries to get back in Scorpius' good graces by turning over a map to something called the "Silver Goblet." Ah, but it's a trap designed to prove that Trakeena is the traitor, and Treacheron escapes with the Shark Brothers. Credits!
On Terra Venture, Trakeena is ordering her Sting Wingers to dig for the Silver Goblet, another ancient treasure that is inexplicably buried on a recently-built space colony. She finds it and decides to keep it for herself, but Treacheron shows up and explains that the goblet is a fake. Trakeena sends her Sting Wingers to attack Treacheron, but, as is their modus operandi, they do nothing but suck and die. Treacheron is about to finish Trakeena off when the Rangers show up to.....I don't know, why are they getting involved, exactly? In the ensuing confusion, Trakeena escapes. Another mighty victory for the Rangers!
Trakeena runs away, but swiftly get cornered by the Magna Defender, who is delighted to have the opportunity to kill the daughter of the monster who killed his son. Karma and all. Unfortunately, just as the Magna Defender is about to gut her, he has another heart attack and collapses. Trakeena gets away. Elsewhere, Treacheron and Leo are still fighting, and Leo starts hearing Mike's voice in his head. This allows Treacheron to end the fight by slashing Leo.
Treacheron soon realizes that the Magna Defender had fought Trakeena, and the Shark Brothers show up to explain that Trakeena fled back to the command carrier. They regroup at a pagoda that's apparently part of Terra Venture where Treacheron and the Shark Brothers decide to annihilate the Rangers to prove Treacheron's loyalty. Evidently, the Lights of Orion can only be used if the Rangers are together, so as long as their separated, they should be defeatable.
And that looks probable, because Treacheron has apparently beaten into a light coma. The Shark Brothers attack, and everyone but Leo goes out to face them. The remaining Rangers meet the monster head on and get knocked down by a giant shuriken. They then try to summon the Lights of Orion, but Treacheron somehow knows more about how they work than the Rangers, and the lights don't come. Treacheron helpfully explains that all five Rangers need to be present for the lights to work.
In the infirmary, Leo dreams of Mike, who tells him to stop sucking and save his friends, and he does. At the battle, Treacheron looks to be on the verge of victory when Leo shows up and the Rangers summon the Lights of Orion. Treacheron decides to challenge Leo in a fight to the death, and proves he means it be throwing away his sword's scabbard. The fight it out, and Treacheron predictably loses. The Shark Brothers grow to super-size in order to have their revenge, and the Lights of Orion give the Galaxy Megazord even more power. They get killed so quickly that's actually a bit difficult to follow what happened.
On the command carrier, Trakeena is trying to prove her toughness by fighting some Sting Wingers, and manages to lose. She realizes that she's going to need some sort of trainer to turn her into a warrior. She asks Scorpius to allow her to spearhead the hiring of the next general.
In the Galactic Apartment, Leo is staring out the window brooding about Mike some more. On the plus side, this is the last episode I'll have to deal with it. Maya comes in to claim that she can somehow feel that Mike's alive, but is rather vague on how she knows it. End, plot line, end! Show Over!
Next Time: The Magna Defender sacrifices his life to end the scourge of Leo's stupid plotline.
